Skype For Mac2.6 With Exclusive Feature
Skype 2.6 for Mac Beta was released. They added few new features call Call-Transfer which was previously available for Windows Skype users only. A cool new feature that allows Macs users to transfer an ongoing call to another Skype user. This can be done by simply clicking on “More” in the call window of an incoming call, then and selecting the Skype contact where you want call to be forwarded.
Other features also added like chat alert highlighting, call transfer, automatic updates, public chat support, and finally payments for Skype prime premium services, a recently introduced feature to the Windows version of Skype.
Visually Skype 2.6 for Mac hasn’t changed a great deal. This is because you, our users, have been asking for better quality rather than more bells and whistles. So we did just that – we’ve ironed out tons of bugs. We understand that even the small things like handling birthday reminders or other notifications are very important for Mac users so we spent a lot of time streamlining the small stuff. While our focus was on quality, we still managed to pack some new features that you won’t immediately see. For the first time in the history of Skype you can now transfer an ongoing call to another Skype user. Simply click on “More” in the call window of an incoming call and select the Skype contact you want to pass the call on to. Note that caller has to use the new version of Skype for Mac or a recent version (3.0 or up) of Skype for Windows for call transfer to work.

It appears that the receiving user must also be using Mac version 2.6, so this feature isn’t that useful yet. Still, its nice to see Skype releasing a new feature for the Mac crowd first.
