http://www.reinventingclassifieds.com

In the short life of ReinventingClassifieds.com, a lot of outstanding ideas have been floated for helping newspapers resurrect their classifieds businesses. As the year 2008 has closed out (and is there anybody out there in media land who isn’t happy to have seen it pass?), we thought we’d save you the time of combing through old blog items and summarize what we believe to be some of the best suggestions that newspaper publishers and classifieds managers should implement in 2009. Iphone GPS - Would It Be Included in IPhone Features List? By Stanley Adam in Iphone GPS The iPhone users must be regret since at present there is no iPhone GPS capability and nor is it going to become a reality in the near time. The possible reason is that the list of preferred iPhone features doesn’t include GPS. Meanwhile, most iPhone owners would positively welcome having iPhone GPS. The worse thing is that even there will not be any way to connect a Bluetooth GPS receiver to your iPh

iPhone App: i Love Katamari

http://www.webomatica.com

i Love Katamari is a goofy game where you roll a tiny ball around a world filled with loose objects. The objects stick to your ball and increase its size until you’re picking up cows, people, buildings and all sorts of ridiculous things. I really enjoyed playing this game on the PlayStation 2 so when I saw the iPhone version, I purchased it right away. The Good Graphic-wise, this is a faithful adaptation. The ball, the myriad of crappy items, daffy music, and even the King and his nonsense

New Patch Fixes iPhone’s I Love Katamari

http://www.gamecyte.com

One week ago, I Love Katamari came out on the iPhone complete with a whole host of control and framerate issues. Well, today they released a patch fixing all of the main complaints people had. (Sorry, guy who wrote the review in all caps, but the game isn’t any less “fruity.”)The new patch adds a tilt sensor to the game screen, making it much easier to control. In addition, somehow the framerate issues and screen lag were, according to all reports from players, completely fixed. The game will

Reviewing a Perilous Transition - The News of January 2008

http://www.metamend.com

2008 started on a promising note however it quickly descended into a chaotic nightmare that can easily be characterized as the harshest, stupidest, good-for-no-one, waste of a year in the short history of search. 2008 sucked on virtually every level imaginable. The past twelve months have produced a few triumphant highlights but they are grossly over-shadowed by a slew of extraordinarily unfortunate events. Entering the last two weeks of the year, conditions in the search marketing industry are

Saving Money with AT&T (the hard way)

http://www.modmyi.com

This month our family plan bill (2 iPhone 3g, and 2 Samsung Syncs) was over 100 dollars less than the full price! We have VERY BAD reception in San Francisco, San Jose & Santa Rosa. We started complaining at least once a week. Each time we get some more money taken off the bill to keep us happy. This month we got 101 dollars off! It does pay to complain! All complaints were done by reasonably calm and determined adults. If your service is BAD, I urge you all to complain too!

SlashGear Week in Review - Week 50 2008

http://www.slashgear.com

With just a few weeks until CES 2009, we’ve been seeing hints of what tech will be showing its head at the biggest consumer electronics event of the year.  Unsurprisingly, netbooks are taking top billing, with MSI confirming three of them.  In fact the budget ultraportables are selling so well, they bested the ever-popular iPhone 3G in Summer sales.  Acer are sitting pretty in the top spot, with their latest model - a 3G-integrated Aspire One - launching this weekend.  Meanwhile, Netgear’s E

Apple claims iPhone is a “gaming console” and “console experience”

http://www.unwiredview.com

Apple owns the iPhone, so they can pretty much say whatever they want to say about it. They say that the iPhone 3G is twice as fast, at half the price of the original, but we all know the truth. That it’s only barely faster most of the time, and actually more expensive in the long run. Apple also considers the iPhone as a smartphone, and constantly tries to push the device as such, even though glaring deficiencies such as its inability to multi-task and lack of copy/paste bog it down in the f

Apple violates antitrust laws

http://prosenjit23.wordpress.com

December 12, 2008 The ongoing battle between Psystar and Apple doesn’t seem to be headed towards a closure anytime soon. Psystar, a company operating out of Florida, was sued by Apple for copyright infringement. Psystar sells off-the-shelf Intel microprocessor based computers running Apple’s Mac OS operating system. Apple’s EULA for Mac OS prohibits running the operating system on any hardware other than Apple-branded ones. Psystar claims this to be a violation of antitrust laws.  According to

Project Management With Taskpaper. 2 Weeks in the Review.

http://smokingapples.com

A while ago I had written about TaskPaper 2.0 release. I based my opinions on half an hour of working around and dismissed it as something that lacks power and depth. That caused a little revolt in the comments about how great and powerful TaskPaper really is. I also got an email from Jesse Grosjean, the developer of TaskPaper, politely telling me to take a hike and to actually give a serious look at TaskPaper before writing such preposterous statements. So I took it upon myself to use TaskPape

2008: iPhone and Its Copycats

http://neojaponisme.com

American tech company Texas Instruments produced one of the first working prototypes of a transistor radio, but it was Japanese company Sony that turned the concept into a marketable product and spread it across the world. Similarly, Japanese scientists did not discover the semiconductor, but Japanese companies dominated the market in the 1980s, until the reemergence of Intel. For most of the 20th century, the stereotype was “the West invents, Japan perfects.” With TVs and cars, this adage st
